Walton EMC Power: A Key Partner in Silicon Ranch’s Solar Project

Georgia is taking a significant step towards renewable energy with Silicon Ranch's latest solar project, Snipesville II, which will be powered by Walton EMC. This 107-megawatt facility, located in Denton, Georgia, will employ single-axis tracking technology to generate electricity for Facebook's data center in Newton County.

The project is expected to create a significant economic impact on Jeff Davis County, with substantial revenue supporting the local school system. During the construction phase, more than 500 jobs will be created, with the majority coming from local labor and subcontractors.

Walton EMC, a consumer-owned utility known for its energy innovation, has signed a contract with Silicon Ranch to supply power for Facebook's data center. This partnership is part of Walton EMC's agreement to provide 100 percent renewable energy for the facility. Facebook chose Walton EMC as the power supplier when it announced the Newton Data Center in March 2018.

Silicon Ranch's first project serving Facebook and Walton EMC is currently under construction and will begin generating power before the end of 2019.
